The pastoral work of the school is designed to support youngsters in their academic work and to help them be happy and secure at school. The Year Group organisation is the backbone of what we do to ensure the welfare of students.
Each young person is assigned to a Learning Mentor within his or her year. The Learning Mentor Group is grouped within a cluster of 3-4 groups and a Lead Mentor has responsibility for the academic and pastoral care of the pupils. For Years 7-11 a Pastoral Support Manager has the responsibility for day-to-day pastoral work and discipline of the year, supporting the work of the Achievement Director. The Achievement Directors work as a team and have overall responsibility for the pastoral system of the school. The teams all work together to play an important role in the partnership with parents in supporting the young people so they can do their best at all times.
